Some people think that doing this is too much work, but where is your website ranking now? Do a search and try to find it, using what you have set up for key words? Where did it come up? You didn't find it in the first few pages? If you can't find it and you know what you are looking are, how do you expect your potential customers to find it? This is a clear sign that you need to work on SEO techniques to improve your ranking.

If you haven't already gone thought the steps of SEO techniques and optimization that are where you need to start. Start by brainstorming all the relevant words to your website. At this stage of the game, there is no wrong word, they are all right. The more ideas you have the more you have to work with and the more likely you will hit upon the right word.

These are the words that you are going to want to include in your titles, Meta tags, and other tags throughout your website. Make sure that your site is easy to read as sometimes people get carried away with putting SEO terminology into the website that they forget to make sure that their customers can read it. People get frustrated easily, and if they cannot read what your website wants to tell them, they will very quickly leave.

Once you have your website full of SEO techniques, let it lose on the web and see how it does. Watch your analyzing tools and see what they are telling you in regard to what is successful and not successful. If you do not understand these reports, learn how to read them as these are going to become more and more important as you try to increase your traffic.

Give it a week, and see where your results are. Maybe do a tweak or two, or just leave it and check back in two or three weeks. By then, the spiders should have found it, crawled it, and be giving your rankings. If you have not moved up between the first check and now, you are going to want to do some more work in regard to SEO techniques

Start with some easy checks. If you have any links out of your website, make sure that these are all functional. If you have reciprocal links to other sites, make sure that your site is still listed on theirs, if not, remove it. Why help them out when they are not helping you? Maybe get some more reciprocal links of complementary businesses; they can also help your rank. Check to see if you have too many key words on your website as they can hurt you on the search engines. Try changing up some key words, and remember to check them to see what types of results you may expect.

Optimizing your website with SEO techniques is a job that is never done. Just when you think you have done all you can do, or have achieved top page results, someone else is going to come along and push you down.
