5 mistakes that people commit in Social media Marketing

Five mistakes that people commit in Social media Marketing

A number of people daily commit very simple errors in the pursuit of their social media marketing business. Here are some of the very common ones that are committed.

1. Joining too many of the Social media sites
You should be determined to consider only some of the major or core media sites instead of looking at the numerous ones available. Some of the core social media websites include Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Never ever try to be seen on a lot of these websites. This is because Facebook alone can keep you very busy with about two hundred million people. This also applies to Twitter, MySpace and also Friendster. What you can do is to master the art of the social media marketing and also one website before another two at most seven.

2. Not having enough value
Most people do really out enough value into what they are doing. The forum posts and messages that you send should have a good amount of value so that it will surprise those that chance upon it. Put more value into your Podcasts, conversations, articles, recommendations and posts. Do not write articles that you don't have enough knowledge as they could reveal your ignorance.

3. Taking instead of giving to the Social media Community
You must ensure that you do not engage in only taking from the community but giving as well. What you should do is rather to give more to the social media sites. You should be able to give words of encouragement, gratitude, news, possibilities and other stuff. If do well in giving you will win for yourself a great level of influence. This will go a long way to increase the traffic level for your marketing needs.

4. Concentrating too much on monetizing the process
Indeed one of the best advantages of the internet is to use it to create money. However, when it comes to this process, you should never overdo it. What a lot of people do is to sell their products without even thinking about the people they meet. You should rather be first involved in the process of giving value to the people. Why not develop a relationship with them and thereafter think of inviting them for a conference or an event. You can then give them the opportunity to purchase any of your products. A lot of people rather will give out messages and Urls that only lead one to a product.

5. Not doing enough to brand yourself
A number of people do not get to develop this part of the social media marketing process. What this means is that they will not be in a position to give out a good image to others who tend to visit their site. You must get a slogan to make your messages very catchy. This way you will be building a niche for yourself that will set you apart from all others.
